Pain impacts quality of life
You may be living with pain in your joints, muscles, ligaments, head or any combination of all of these. You may be using some form of medication to give you periods of relief from the pain you are living with. Medication treats the symptoms of pain, but it does not treat the root cause.
Pain may be the result of a trauma or it may be lifestyle related. For example, if you work in an office environment and spend long periods of time sat at a desk then posture may be a root cause of the pain you are living with.
We offer treatment focused on the root cause of pain
We pay attention to the root causes of pain. Only by pinpointing what is causing pain can it be treated to achieve lasting relief.
Identifying why you have pain and then formulating a plan to treat it will often require input from our Physiotherapists, Osteopath, Podiatrist and Sports Therapist. It may be necessary for you to be treated by each of these skilled practitioners.
Treatment beyond the clinic
Your treatment will need to continue outside of the sessions you will have with members of our team. You will have exercises you will need to perform, remote from the clinic.
We will also educate you about the cause of your pain, equipping you with knowledge that will enable you to adjust elements of your lifestyle and environment, if these are factors contributing to your pain.
It starts with you
Before we can treat your pain, we need to:
- Watch how you move overall.
- Feel how the painful area moves in relation to the rest of you.
- Examine by touch the locations where you experience pain.
- Interpret the findings and help you understand how all these fit together.
- Diagnose the cause.
- Create a treatment plan and ensure that you play an active part in the process.
